To Ahmed Shah Masoud

Hi, my name is Hamasa Baqaiy Hazrati and I’m 15 years old. Today when I came ‎home my ‎mom ran at me and just kissed and hugged me. I was really surprised and ‎asked her why she ‎was so excited. Then she told me she had found a poem about ‎Ahmed Shah Masoud written ‎by me, and that she was really proud of me. I took the ‎poem and started to read. At first I was ‎so surprised. I asked her where she had ‎found it. The poem seemed familiar but I couldn’t ‎really recall writing it. But then after ‎reading it again I saw a picture in my mind, a memory of ‎when I was writing the ‎poem. I could see my hand writing down the words in front of me, 5 ‎years ago. Now ‎when I read the poem I feel really happy and proud about how smart I was. I ‎mean, ‎how many people can say that they have written a poem about a hero in a foreign ‎‎country in another language, when they were only 10 years old. I live in Sweden and ‎for me ‎Afghanistan is a foreign country because I don’t have a single memory of it. I ‎was born in ‎Europe and I’m really surprised of me. But I think I got all the knowledge ‎from my family, ‎my parents and grandparents. I remember the first weeks of his dead ‎and even the short time ‎before his death was announced. My family was soooo sad. ‎They were crying and telling me ‎how good he was. Telling me what a hero, a ‎defender of our country and even the world had ‎lost. From all of their stories I built ‎myself an image of him and wrote this poem. I hope he ‎would have liked it, because I ‎really do looking back at it now.‎
To Ahmed Shah Masoud

I can not find words enough to express my sadness.‎
I do not have tears enough to wash away my madness.‎
I long but not enough to meet you
I cry but not loud enough to reach you.‎
I reminisce in memory of all your smiles
I feel remorse for all your struggles and walked miles
I grew up with your name on my lips, my heart, my soul...‎
I would have loved to meet you
to have kissed your hand
to have fallen at your feet
You taught and gave us liberty ‎
You freed us from the invisible chains‎
You gave us hope when there was none‎
You gave us life when we were dead‎
Please accept my congratulations
for your dream has come true‎
Your Afghanistan is now free‎
Your people are proud, for everyone to see.‎
Please rest now and let us make you proud, ‎
the way you have made us proud.‎

You are brighter than the light

You are smarter than the sight

You are greater than the greatest

You are braver than the bravest

You are warmer than the sun

You are calmer than the ocean

You are more humble than a shadow

You are kinder than a father

Our history ashamed of your gallantry

Our culture acknowledged your bravery

The humanity cried for your assassination and lost

Your enemies dieing for your moral and forgiveness

Your name and title will remain in our hearts for ever

Your gentleness and sacrifices will remain eternally

Your smile and sadness will remain in our life

Your tiredness and efforts will remain in our perception

Your sleepless nights remain in our sweet sleeps

Your seriousness will remains in our mind insistently

You were, you are and you will be our hero

Your enemies are smaller and becoming like a zero

Oh Massoud your love made us astonished and puzzled

Your personality and your history thought us a lot
